Bending the wrist far backward, either by means of letting it fall backwards limply, or having it pressed up against something. The opposite of Palmar Flexion.

- Indicating towards something. (Note that in Japan, Pointing with one's finger may be considered rude, so using the whole hand is a polite/formal alternative).

- "Why?" gesture.
- "Rebellious", "bratty" body language; Mesugaki and Osugaki.
- "Give it to me" gesture.
- Beckoning; "come here".
- "Hand shrug" / "I don't know" gesture; confusion.
