Japanese racemare. The youngest of the Dance siblings, after Dance Partner (Racehorse) and Dance In The Dark (Racehorse).
A promising prospect from a tried and tested bloodline, Dance in the Mood won the Oka Sho in her classic year, but endured a slump for the remainder of it - that is, until she crossed paths with her rival and fellow Sunday Silence progeny Daiwa Major (Racehorse); it is said that she fell for him, who was considered a charming stallion, and after finishing second to him in a couple of races, enjoyed a career resurgence, culminating in a win at the G1 Victoria Mile in 2006, as if her spirit had been reinvigorated by her runs-in with Major.
After retirement, she had a stint as a broodmare, but produced no notable offspring - however, she was reunited with Major as both horses were owned by Shadai Group, and although they would never be allowed to mate (as both are Sunday Silence children), their unbreakable bond continued to the very end, as Dance in the Mood passed away on January 19, 2026 - a single day before her rival and best friend Daiwa Major.
