Contra Hard Corps, released in Japan as Contra: The Hard Corps, is the first and only Contra game for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis released by Konami in 1994.
The game was also released in Europe and Australia as Probotector.
It is set five years after the events of Contra III: The Alien Wars released for the Super Famicom some years before.
Is notable because of its high level of difficulty, several playable characters and multiple player-choice paths and endings, as well as its non-stop action.
This game amazed many players when it showed video game special effects nobody ever thought the Mega-Drive/Sega Genesis hardware could even produce in that system.
