About Catharanthus (Flower)

Catharanthus is a genus of flowers in the dogbane family Apocynaceae. Most species are native to Madagascar, with one species in India and Sri Lanka. They have five petals in a pentagonal formation, sometimes slightly twisted like fan blades.

They are visually similar and closely related to Periwinkle (Flower)s, thus they are commonly called Madagascar periwinkles. They are usually pink or purplish-pink in contrast to true periwinkles, which are various shades of blue.
