Calvin J. Candie is the principal antagonist of Django Unchained. He is the owner of Candyland, the fourth-biggest cotton plantation in Mississippi. A vicious slaver, he owns Broomhilda Von Shaft, Django's wife, who the titular character seeks to rescue.
