A 2023 adult 3D animated series created by husband and wife team Michael Green and Amber Noizumi for Netflix.
Set in an alternate history Japan during it's isolation period where the Itoh Clan rather than the Tokugawa Clan ruled Japan and where the British instead of the Dutch are the only Western nation allowed to trade with the Japanese. The series follows Mizu (Blue Eye Samurai), a woman warrior who disguise herself as a man. Discriminated and hunted throughout her life due to being half-Japanese and half-White and having Blue Eyes, Mizu seeks revenge and kill four British men who she believed raped her mother and gave birth to her, causing misery to her life. With her ruthless skills as a warrior, she is feared as the Blue Eyes Samurai. At the same time, Abijah Fowler, an Irish arms dealer who works for the British, and one of Mizu's possible fathers, is secertly helping rebel clans wanting to overthrow the current Shogunate.
A second season is in the works and is expected to be release in 2026.
