A series created by Tezuka Osamu depicting the titular super Surgeon character Black Jack (Character) as he saves people with his incredible (and almost super-human) medical skills.
It is the third most popular manga of Tezuka's behind Tetsuwan Atom and Jungle Taitei (Kimba the White Lion).
According to Tezuka (who in real life was also a medical Doctor himself), Black Jack is the ideal type of physician he wished he had been.
