Also known as: 巴巴托斯, バルバトス, 巴巴托斯(原神)
A character from Genshin Impact, he is the God of Freedom and the Anemo Archon, presiding over Mondstadt. He loves freedom and refuses to take direct control of his nation, preferring to wander the world as Venti (Genshin Impact) the Bard.
Barbatos was once a mere elemental Spirit among the Thousand Winds with no divine power. At some point, he encountered Istaroth (Genshin Impact) at the Thousand Winds Temple, where she gave him a fragment of her power and authority. During the Archon War, he began amassing power due to the Gunnhildr Clan worshipping him and eventually participated in the rebellion against Decarabian (Genshin Impact), alongside the Nameless Bard (Genshin Impact), Amos (Genshin Impact), a knight (possibly Gunnhildr (Genshin Impact)) and a Red-Haired Warrior (Genshin Impact) (possibly an ancestor to Diluc (Genshin Impact)).
Due to Boreas deciding he was unworthy of being the Archon and choosing to pass on and Decarabian's death at the hands of his people, Barbatos ascended to godhood and became the Anemo Archon. From there, he took his people to Cider Lake, building the new Mondstadt City and drastically changed the terrain, flattening Cliffs and Mountains with storms and brought in monsoons that changed Mondstadt from a snowy wasteland to a lush and fertile land.
He is depicted as a small Spirit wearing a white Hooded Cloak.
Barbatos is Venti (Genshin Impact)'s original form. This tag is specifically for his wind spirit form. Do not tag Venti's human form as Barbatos.
He is named after Barbatos, a duke of Hell and the 8th demon from the Ars Goetia.
