A video game franchise developed by Rovio Entertainment for the IOS (Os), Windows Phone, Bada, Symbian, webOS, Android (Os) and Maemo mobile operating systems. The first game was developed in 2009 and was highly successful, which led to the creation of the Angry Birds media franchise. This led to numerous other themed games, spin-offs, merchandise, multiple TV series and animated films. It is currently one of the highest-grossing media franchises.
The objective of the game is to eliminate the Bad Piggies (Angry Birds) and destroy their buildings and structures at the same time. This is done by the birds launching themselves out of a giant Slingshot (Weapon) and hitting the pigs' various constructs, henceforth eliminating them. As the player advances, new types of birds are unlocked, with some being effective against certain materials and some having special abilities. Each level allots the player a certain number of birds, which must be used in the order provided.
