An assassination attempt targeting the former United States president Donald Trump at a 2024 Republican party election campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.
Trump was shot at while giving a speech and survived the attack with minor injury, apparently sustaining a wound near his right ear and defiantly pumping his fist in the air as he was taken away by his security detail. The shooter, 20 years old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by a Secret Service Counter Assault Team sniper shortly after the assassination attempt. Another attendee was also killed by Crooks as well.
The photographs of Trump raising his fist with an American Flag floating in the background became a subject of Memes, either in political support of Trump or as Satire related to the event.
