A sizzler plate (also known as a cast iron fajita plate or cast iron steak plate) is a metal, typically cast iron, plate that is heated up before serving on. It typically has a matching wooden platter to go with it to avoid touching the hot metal plate and protect the table top.
Not to be confused with a Hot Plate, a portable stove for putting your cookware on.
