Scallop

Also known as: ホタテ貝, 帆立, ホタテガイ, 帆立貝

A kind of mollusc, with a flattened serrated Shell, usually white. The flat, cylindrical muscle responsible for opening and closing the shell is the main focus when scallops are prepared as Food.
