Use when information of any sort (typically written, may involve pictures) is being conveyed through a single sheet of Paper, which may or may not have been ripped out of a Notebook or similar.
Often stuck on walls with Tape or nails, sometimes just left on surfaces like Beds or Tables.
For musical notation, use Musical Note instead.
