Crossing one's fingers is used to wish for good luck. Alternatively, when the gesture is hidden behind the back, it indicates telling a white lie or breaking a promise.
Not to be confused with X Fingers, when the index fingers of both hands are crossed to form an X, or with Interlocked Fingers, when the fingers of both hands are interlaced.
