A country located at the northern part of the Asia and eastern part of Europe. At 17,125,200 square kilometres (6,612,100 sq mi), it is the largest country in the world. Formerly, it was the core of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1991, and before that, the core of the Russian Empire.
